When someone has been infected with an infectious disease, I believe they should be contained at all circumstances. Infectious diseases have sparked plagues in the past in this country. I don’t really see why people would be against it if we just had the means to comfortably contain an infected individual and the parties involved. Health-care institutions have detailed processes in place for dealing with people who were exposed to an infectious disease. However, proper testing must be completed before the patient is quarantined fully, as this could result in unlawful punishment. If a patient exhibits symptoms of an infectious condition, they should be taken to a sealed area where adequate testing may be performed to determine whether they have the disease. People who came into touch with the patient should be brought in and tested once the diagnosis has been made. Health care is about assisting everyone, but the organization’s government must consider the broader good.
