 Describe each sacred space in terms of history, purpose, meaning, features, and usage. This conversation should focus on how the sacred space is an example of the religious tradition that utilizes it. For example, think about the following questions during your research: Why was this structure made? Why is it in this specific spot? Who was responsible for building it? What does space mean to the people of the religion? Why and how do the adherents of the religion use it? Are there specific activities, props, and/or dietary aspects associated with this space? For this assignment you want to reread the client case study presented on the Course Project Introduction page located in Module 01. You will also want to review your Intake and Assessment Notes for details needed for this section.

Your treatment plan should include the following:

• Summary of the professional’s conclusions related to the client including the reason for referral and highlights of the assessment
• Definition of the problem discussed in terms of those that are immediate, underlying, and working or long-term
• Recommendations for a plan of action, including goals that have been agreed upon with the client along with suggested times for follow-up

Your treatment plan goals need to be measurable and labeled as short-term or long-term. They should connect together to achieve an ultimate action. For example, you might work with a client whose final goal is to resume shared custody of his child. This is clearly a long-term initiative that will require steps for completion. Perhaps the client needs to find safer housing and maintain stable employment. These would be considered two short-term goals to help meet the long-term one. Each part of the overall goal should be broken down into smaller, more manageable pieces.

Each goal should consist of the following:

• A measurable action labeled as short-term or long-term
• Specific actions necessary to meet the goal
• Possible resources available to carry out the goal
• Projected dates to complete the action
• Additional parties that might be needed to help complete the goal

The issue over whether or not the United States should have an official language is highly debated. Option #2: Medical case study

Introduction: In this research project you will explore a disease or disorder of your choosing. You will need to teach me about the disease or disorder by telling me the following information.

1. Cause/Effect: What is the cause of the disease or disorder and its effect on the normal

human body?

2. Detection/Technology: What are some of the most current monitoring technologies to

detect or symptoms to diagnose the disease? Are there any new advances needed or

being developed in the area of detection?

3. Treatment/Therapies: Is there a cure or is the current medical approach just treating

symptoms? What are the risks and side effects associated with traditional treatments or

therapies? Discuss the risks and benefits.

You have to pick one disease/disorder from the list below:

1. Short bowel syndromes (SBS)

2. Gastroesophageal reflux disease

4. Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD)

For option #2, you may choose to make a poster, write a research paper, or do a presentation.

If you choose to write a research paper, the paper should include:

a. Cover Page (1 page): include your name, class and name of the disease you choose to work on.

b. Introduction (0.5-1 page): Briefly introduce your topic and explain WHY the topic is important or interesting.

c. Body of Paper (2-3 pages): In this part, you should provide detailed information to answer the questions I ask about.

d. Conclusion (0.5-1 page)

e. Reference (1 page): Provide at least four sources of information you use to collect

information. The sources of information must be reliable and avoid using sources such as Baidu or Wikipedia. Information from published books and journals, and government or international non-profitable organization website (e.g. WHO) are recommended.

The layout of the paper should be:

1. 3 to 5 pages (excluding cover page and reference)

2. 12-point font, Times New Roman

3. Double space

Qualitative interviewing is more than a collection of techniques, technologies, questions and answers. Rubin and Rubin (2012) noted that it has the potential to change the interviewer into a more patient, tolerant, and engaged human being. “It makes you aware of what you haven’t seen before, and it enables you to pull meaningful information out of buzzing confusion” (p. 234).

• In this media program, Dr. Susan Marcus, Core Research Faculty with the School of Psychology at Walden University, introduces second cycle coding. She discusses the purpose of reorganizing and reanalyzing data from first cycle coding. She will also demonstrate using this method.

This writing project includes a comprehensive application of the elements of critical reasoning that we are studying in this course. The main objective is to use the critical thinking strategies described in the course to analyze and evaluate contrasting arguments. You can preview the requirements for the final paper in the Week 8 assignment below.

This is not an opinion piece or persuasive essay. The goal is to present contrasting arguments using information from credible sources and to evaluate the strengths and weaknesses of these positions using content from the course.

As you put this together, are you following the critical analysis process that we emphasize in critical reasoning? This means fairly considering all research equally before reaching a conclusion.

Your rough draft should include 1–2 paragraphs for each of the following elements:

1. Introduction: Identify the issue/topic. Provide the necessary background and important recent developments. Define key terms and concepts.
2. Arguments and Counterarguments: Summarize the best arguments on both sides of the issue. Include relevant research from credible sources used to support each conclusion.
3. Evaluation of Critical Thinking: Assess the strength of the arguments and the quality of thinking surrounding this issue.
   • Identify weaknesses in critical thinking such as fallacies, rhetorical devices, vague language, and cognitive biases. Provide specific examples of how these weaknesses appear in arguments, using terminology and definitions from the course
   • Evaluate the quality of scientific and anecdotal evidence using the standards of inductive and deductive reasoning described in the course. Consider the quality of causal relationship, analogies, generalizations, and/or moral reasoning.
4. Conclusion: Analyze the totality of research and offer a critical thinker’s response to the issue. Identify your own position and experience with the issue and explain how your thinking of the subject has evolved as a result of your analysis.
