Health Medical Homework Help. NYU Literature Review Discussion

IMPORTANT NOTE REGARDING WORD LIMIT REQUIREMENTS:

Please note that each and every assignment has its own word limit.

Writing a literature review is an important section when introducing a specific topic. It outlines and synthesizes the collection of critical sources on the topic, often covering the research (or scholarship) essential to the issue one is writing about (Purdue Owl, n.d.). Some of the critical parts of a literature review include the introduction, the body, and the conclusion, of course. The introduction includes the thesis, a forecast of critical topics, and potentially a description of how sources were found. The body summarizes and synthesizes the sources collected while analyzing and interpreting the findings, followed by having well-structured paragraphs. Finally, the conclusion will summarize the key finds again, connecting back to the primary research question, statement of need, problem question, or evaluation question (Purdue Owl, n.d.).

In most essays I have written, I have only written the introduction where I am stating the problem or thesis of my essay. I have never written a section dedicated to synthesizing a collection of sources that refers back to the problem statement. According to Owl Purdue (n.d.), there are multiple organizational patterns that one can write out their literature review, such as chronological, thematic, methodological, or theoretical. With that being said, I think I can improve on having a robust organizational pattern because, as I mentioned in my previous post, I want my writing to flow nicely so that my audience can understand the content and the health issue. Another improvement I can make is learning to synthesize my sources because it is critical to write a literature review that connects other sources to the health issue.
