You may have also told similar tales in order to share from your experiences with others. This is narrative learning, and it plays an important role in teaching people about the world in which they live. In this Assignment, you will become more familiar with your own learning by examining and sharing a narrative story about one of your experiences. You also consider how narrative learning may impact your practice as an adult educator.
For this Assignment, think back throughout your life and remember the narrative stories that you heard—ones about your family, your friends, and yourself. Choose one that you learned from and that has affected you in your adult life.
Write a short paper that incorporates your responses to the following questions:
Share your story, and explain what you learned and why. Identify the source of this narrative learning: What are its roots? What is its context? How did it impact your life?
