- Part of understanding the Emergency Medical Services industry is learning more about the agencies and associations that help to drive our industry forward. The list below contains many (but not all) of agencies, organizations, and associations that impact EMS. (Note: This is not an exhaustive list, there are certainly some agencies that were missed. Feel free to use any agency you want. If you have a question, please email your instructor.) In this week’s assignment, you are to ‘dive in’ to an agency that impacts EMS. Pick ONE agency and write a 3-5 page paper that discusses your understanding of the agency. This should include, but is not limited to: the genesis of the organization, what the mission and vision of the organization is, how is it goverend, who are the members, what impacts they have had on the industry, what are the current initatives the organization is supporting, what are they going to accomplish in the next 1-3 years.
